Cole’s Receives Two Top 10 National New Product Awards
Grand Rapids, Michigan, November 7, 2006 — At this years National Frozen Food Association’s annual convention in Orlando, Florida, Cole’s the Grand Rapids-based producer of frozen food products for supermarkets, club stores and foodservice distributors, received two Top 10 National New Product awards for its Cheesesticks and Mini-Toast. There were over 1000 new frozen food products introduced in 2006. Frozen Food Age, a monthly frozen food trade publication, and Good Housekeeping presented the Top 10 National New Product awards.
Cole’s Cheesesticks were introduced in January of 2006, and the demand for the 100% real mozzarella-filled Cheesesticks has been so great, that Cole’s is expanding its capacity and distribution with the addition of a state-of-the-art production facility in North Liberty, Iowa, that will be operational in January of 2007. The great taste and innovation of Cheesesticks appeal to a broad range of consumers, from school aged children wanting an easy after school snack to college aged kids looking for a late night pick-me-up, as well as the busy parent looking for a great meal complement.
Cole’s Mini-Toast was also introduced in January of 2006 and has 6 slices of garlic toast in each package.
Cole’s Mini-Toast has strong demand among empty nesters, filling a niche for the smaller households looking for fewer slices of garlic toast at a reasonable price. Cole’s Mini-Toast is the perfect toast to dinner for two.
"This award is a reflection of our quality culture in our people, products and processes," said Scott Devon, Chairman of the Board, "all of which continue to be vital as we look to innovate and expand our business in existing and new channels of distribution."
